I am fortunate to have lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure. I was born in Trondheim, Norway, and raised by an American father and a Norwegian mother. My dad wanted to name me Ulf, meaning Wolf in old Norwegian, but my mom had her heart set on Tor and named me after the Norse god of thunder. When I was two, my dad moved the family to California and later on to Michigan. As with many families, my parents divorced, and my mom moved back to Norway. So, my brothers and I grew up sharing time between Norway and the USA.

As a young reader, I devoured spy stories, thrillers, and tales of daring deeds. They are probably what started me down the path that became my life. I can say for certain that there are worse fates than living a life only dreamed of as a child. I have led covert government programs, executed sensitive operations, and collected intelligence vital to national security. I’ve been a SOT-A in Special Forces, a Case Officer at the CIA, and a nuclear security consultant with the Department of Energy. I’ve led patrols along the Georgian border with Chechnya, delivered vaccines to remote villages in Pakistan, and founded an aviation company in Brazil. The pace has been relentless at times, but what a ride. Looking back over the years, I still wonder how it all came to be.
Now, I am writing my first novel, A Debt of Honor. The manuscript is written, all 91,000 words of it, and I am looking for an agent to represent me and the story to publishing houses. The name may change if I am fortunate enough to land a traditional publishing deal, but until then, A Debt of Honor it is. I have done my fair share of writing over the years, usually in the form of business proposals, analytical pieces, and operational reports, but this is my first foray into the world of fiction.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy hanging out with my wife of over 30 years and Loke, our Siamese cat. You can often find me at the shooting range or diving. I am an avid scuba diver and use my technical diving skills to support underwater archaeology and the conservation of wrecks from the Battle of the Atlantic.
