Before turning to fiction, Tor Andrewes lived the kind of life most thriller writers only imagine. A former CIA operative, Special Forces veteran, and nuclear security consultant for the U.S. Department of Energy, he has operated in some of the world’s most complex and dangerous environments.
Born in Trondheim, Norway, and raised in the U.S., Tor has lived or worked in over half a dozen countries and traveled extensively across the globe. His deep-rooted experience in intelligence, security, and geopolitics—along with a love of fast cars, wreck dives, and video games—shapes the pulse-pounding realism of his writing.

He began writing fiction in 2023 with the goal of entertaining those still serving on the front lines—and readers who prefer their heroes grounded, smart, and just a little dangerous. His debut novel, A Debt of Honor, launches a gripping new thriller series packed with covert missions, global intrigue, and high-stakes action for fans of Jack Carr, Brad Taylor, and Mark Greaney.
Tor lives in Virginia with Tone, his wife of over thirty years, and their rescue Siamese, Loke. He shares behind-the-scenes insights, writing updates, and more here and on social media at Facebook, Instagram, and X.
